If someone had told us two years ago that a famous musician would be producing a song for the Inside Flow community, we would have said: “That’d be really, really cool – but we still got a looong way to go for that.” and laughed them in the face.
Well, never mind. 😅 Because it just happened.
The artist KONG. released his song 5472 (we move as one) at the Grand Opening of the Global Summit in Bali.
Where It All Began?
Last year at the Global Summit in Bali when Senior Teacher Rebecca Rasmussen taught KONG.’s song “Stand With You”. You, our community, loved the flow and song, so that it went viral after an Inside Flow concert in Japan where Young Ho taught it forward.
That same night, KONG. woke up to a funny feeling that wouldn’t let him fall back asleep, unaware of what was going on on the other side of the world. So he checked his phone and couldn’t believe what he saw: The Inside Flow community was flowing to “Stand With You” at Tokyo International Airport!
The story continued with KONG. flying to Taiwan for an Inside Flow concert to perform live – and that’s when Young Ho had an epiphany. A moment of sudden and great realisation.
After the concert, they went out for amazing food, a lot of karaoke songs and some tequila – and that’s when Young Ho went up to KONG. to say they needed to talk about his idea.
Right here? Right now?
KONG.’s reaction was priceless. And that moment made history. It was the beginning of the creation of the song 5472.
Community Spirit and Connection Ignite Creativity
Only one day later, after a sleepless night, KONG. sent an acoustic version to Young Ho to listen to – and Young Ho cried happy tears. He was overwhelmed by how amazingly the idea of a song cooperation for the Inside Flow community came to life this quickly.
What’s the Song About?
You are probably wondering what the numbers 5472 mean, right? 😉 No, it’s not a typical yogi number like 108. It’s actually a reference to an inside joke – a reference to making mistakes like counting incorrectly which happens – the world won’t end from that. The song is about the fact making mistakes is okay. We’re only human, right? Now, laughing when making mistakes is a good way to deal with it. But writing a song about it is probably the best case scenario!
And as the Inside Flow community we continue moving as one nonetheless. Whether we make mistakes or not. Whether we come from East or West, North or South. We can decide to take mistakes lightly with a smile. We can decide to connect, respect, and hold hands to unite. That’s what we celebrate with KONG.s song.
Inside Flow Yogis Sing Together for the Choir
Have you noticed it? Pay close attention to the background choir. It’s actually made up of the 108 Inside Flow yogis who joined the Inside Flow Teacher Training in Connecticut in July 2024. Rebecca’s husband Matt brought all of his music production equipment to the venue, and our Inside Flow choir brought all of their energy together to record this part of the song, expressing even more that we move as one.
This is just one amazing moment of the past Global Summit in Bali. And there have been so many more! Feel free to reach out to us at support@insideyoga.org to tell us your favorite moments. We’re so excited and grateful for everything. Thank you for being part of this beautiful community!
